- How much to do
- Hold for 20–30 seconds. Then do the same on the other side.
How to do it
- Step into a low kneeling lunge with one foot forward and the back knee resting on the mat.
- Tuck your hips gently under and shift forward until you feel the front of the back hip open.
- Reach the arm on the back-leg side overhead.
- Lengthen through that side of your body without arching your lower back.
- Hold and breathe, then return with control.
How to breathe
Breathe in to lengthen, then let the exhale carry you a little deeper. Never force it.
Common mistakes
Letting your lower back arch. Draw your ribs down and squeeze your glutes to keep it flat.
Giving one side more time than the other. Count both, and match the looser side to the tighter one.
