- How much to do
- Work 30–45 seconds per interval.
How to do it
- Stand in a slight squat with your weight on one foot and your chest tall.
- Push off your standing foot and leap sideways onto the other foot.
- Land softly with a bent knee and sweep the trailing leg behind you.
- Reach the opposite arm across your body to help your balance.
- Spring back the other way and continue bounding side to side.
How to breathe
Keep a steady rhythm rather than matching each rep — the pace is high enough that holding your breath will cost you.
Common mistakes
Landing flat and loud. Land toes first and let your knees and hips absorb it — quiet is the whole cue.
Knees falling inward. Push them out so they track over your middle toes.
Rushing. Speed hides the range; slow down until the last rep looks like the first.
